Things I like:
The Society
for Creative Anachronism: an historical recreation group
dedicated to recreating life in the Middle Ages, approximately:
900-1600. We get together and have 'events' and everyone
dresses like their persona, and we have a lot of fun.
Dancing:
I love to dance, whether its modern, period or whatever.
I am a member of Heritage Dancers, an historical dance group
that does performances in the area. HD mostly does Civil
War and Colonial period dances. I've been a member since
seventh grade. I also love to dance in the SCA, I get it
from my mom I suppose. My mom has always been interested
in period dance and dance while I was in the womb, and with me
in a backpack. It shows.
Reading: I
read just about everything I can get my hands on.
Writing:
Just check out the writings section and see!
Music: I
play the flute as my main instrument, in band and marching band
and pit orchestra. I can also play the violin, harpsichord,
tinwhistle, and recorder[which Staffbearers call pocketflutes].
I listen to music as well. My choices are definitely not
the norm, my two favorite bands being Steeleye Span and Jethro
Tull. I also like the Beatles, lots of classical music-especially
James Galway on the flute!-and Broadway Musicals. My favorite
musicals: Les Miserables, Fiddler on the Roof, Miss Saigon,
Camelot, and Man of La Mancha. My most favorite song in
the world is Pachelbel's Canon in D.
Horses:
I love horses and anything to do with them. Especially
the smell. I think the smell of a barn, should be bottled.
What a perfume it would make! I've been taking riding lessons
since I was twelve, and though I mostly ride in the summer, I'm
doing pretty well.
Girl Scouts:
I'm a proud Senior Girl Scout, member of troop #330.
I've been a Scout off-and-on since Brownies. I'm still
in scouting because I love the friendship, the activies, the
oppurtunities to meet new people, and definitely the camping.
The Internet:
Isn't it obvious? After all, why else would I spend so
much time on this webpage? My first internet obsession
was an online chat called Alamak, but that ended. Next
came a hiatus, and then this webpage and Steelsings' Tamora Pierce
role-play overtook my life. Then another hiatus (they always
seem to happen in the fall) and now I play a lot of Stick in
the MUD!
Food: one
word: chocolate!
Jasper:
That funny-looking guy in the piccys that I write all the poetry
to.
I'm also obsessed with snowglobes, like this one:
I think I'll close this egotistical and megalomanical little
page with a favorite quote of mine, by me.
"Life is like a Potato, and risks are like spice.
Too much spice, and it burns your mouth, too little spice, and
it's bland. Spice it up!" -moi, Spring 1997.
